As global competition around artificial intelligence<\/a><\/span><\/em> intensifies, Zoho co-founder Sridhar Vembu has called on India to focus on building a broader and more self-reliant technology ecosystem rather than concentrating solely on AI models.<\/p>\n

His remarks came after reports that access to certain advanced AI models<\/strong> developed by Anthropic, including Fable 5 and Mythos 5<\/strong><\/em>, was restricted for foreign nationals under new US regulations.<\/p>\n

According to Vembu, artificial intelligence is only one layer of a much larger technology stack that powers modern digital infrastructure.<\/p>\n

AI Is Only the Tip of the Technology Pyramid<\/h2>\n

Sharing his views on social media platform X, Vembu argued that much of the discussion around AI focuses on large language models while overlooking the foundational technologies required to support them.<\/p>\n

“AI is the tip of a whole pyramid of capabilities, most of it we don’t have and we don’t even hear about,”<\/strong><\/em> he said.<\/p>\n
